I'm talking about music PR, among others. I'm a big fan of this particular area of advertising and this branch has slowly started to die because people can find facts about a certain song just by searching on the Internet. Also, with all the musicians having Facebook, Twitter, etc. accounts, the fans can get responses directly from them.
__________________
Dan Fletcher - Easysaver Complaints
Re: The Real Social Advertising Trends of 2010

good info. ...,

Re: The Real Social Advertising Trends of 2010

I have a beautiful small bag. For example, fans of new TV show might discuss recent episodes in a discussion forum. In this particular case the community may only last for the duration of the television series. In other cases, the community relationship may persist much longer, e.g. moms trading advice on a website dedicated to parenthood.

Re: The Real Social Advertising Trends of 2010

a foodie follows a list of local restaurant critics on twitter, a CIO joins a LinkedIn group for IT leaders and discusses cloud computing, an indie rock fan blogs about new bands and other indie rock fans read her posts.
1.	Does social media affect society, if so why?
2.	Where will social media be in 5 years?
3.	Does social media affect advertising, if so why?
4.	Do blogs help you in the future with applying for jobs?
5.	What are some things do while in college before going out for jobs in the advertising world?
6.	How is social media used in Advertising companies?
7.	What is happening to social media, advertising, and PR?
8.	What do I need to be studying before I graduate?

Consumers can find a huge amount of information about their needs, reviews about new products, comments and so on. Years ago that valuable info was not available, you just asked few friends about some produtcs or read it on magazines. Now, users put their experiences online, and you can find it everywhere. Decision making about buying one camera or another (for example) is easier now. And that's more fair, because it is harder to control the mass. If your product is good, mass will love it, and they will be your more powerful advertiser.

www.qualads.com

Re: The Real Social Advertising Trends of 2010

This larger base of active users allows people to connect with virtual peer groups in more niche categories. There are clearly some new opportunities, with so much traffic moving online (and online stores running out of stock faster than physical ones).

2010 will see a bit of a flip back, where there will be a realization of offline marketing importance, as well as online. The hot areas will be monitoring services for effectiveness of online activity, not creative products; and innovative viral marketing; in the offline sector, we may see a comeback.

What I think will be hot is how digital and social media will impact internal communications. Plus, social media and its impact on customer relationship management - those companies driving innovation in this area will do well.”

Another trend to watch out for in 2010 is Social media for Employee Assistance programmes.

I have gotten so tired of reading completely hypothetical posts. I agree with what you see stirring already, especially number four, concerning immediate online endorsements. I think this will continue to grow and impact the industry greatly.
