Social media sites are about one or many people conversing, which is more engaging than the banner advertisements placed along the top of the site. AOL discovered the same thing with AIM's chat platform. You are attributing the decline in display advertising to social media?&lt;br&gt;This is madness. Click-through rates for display ads started falling due to the increasingly disruptive nature of the medium and NOT because of people being "interested in each other".
